KOA: MADE
Not what AI imagines. What I decide AI creates.
Concept
Everything in this film exists because someone decided it. Koa is not a randomly generated character — she is a presence directed down to the last detail. Her vitiligo, the angle of her gaze, the brand of her boots, the temperature of the light, the impossibility of the setting. Each element is a conscious creative decision.
“Hyperreal surrealism. The settings are impossible but the photography is real. Logic fails but texture does not. Koa is the stable element — the only point of continuity in worlds that bend.”
Character bible — Koa
Immovable traits documented to maintain raccord across 100% of generations:
- Hair
- Intense auburn-copper, shoulder length, straight bangs.
- Eyes
- Blue-grey with green tint, almond-shaped, direct gaze.
- Skin
- Olive base. Butterfly-pattern vitiligo across nose bridge.
- Build
- Athletic, lean.
The butterfly-pattern vitiligo is the technical signature that allows a human (and any QA system) to confirm Koa is the same character between scenes. It is the AI equivalent of consistent casting in traditional cinema — documented at pigment level.
The 5 chapters
- VOID
- Pre-existence · Hand brushes the crack. Unconscious.
- HEAT
- First sensation · Open palm to the horizon. First conscious gesture.
- BLOOM
- Growth + first doubt · Fingers touch a perfect petal and stop.
- DARK
- Identity crisis · Fingers in water — the reflection lags.
- RAW
- Completeness · Direct look to camera. First and only time.
Pipeline
- 1. Character bible + aesthetic bible (pre-production).
- 2. Story storyboard (shot by shot script).
- 3. Start frames in Nano Banana Pro (seed images per chapter).
- 4. Video generation in Kling 3.0 / Seedance 2.0.
- 5. Transition frames for the continuous-sequence shot.
- 6. Editing in Premiere / DaVinci Resolve + unified color grade per chapter.
Learnings
- Documentation precedes generation. A senior-level AI project is documented first. If documentation is weak, the piece will be too.
- Character raccord is the hardest piece of generative imagery. Not solved by prompts or LoRAs alone — solved by a reference system (face ref + character bible + human QA).
- Narrative precedes the shot. Anchor gestures per chapter were decided before any prompt. The prompt is translation, not creation.
- The visual signature of the character (butterfly vitiligo) is direction engineering, not decoration. A technical mark serves QA, not look.
